Be The Change
"Click Clack Pow! The sounds of guns bring pain to his ears. In his head its just another brother going six feet under. He walks the streets alone and helpless because being home isn't and option. Its kids like these that are silently screaming for help, but their cries are never answered. Education is key, and highschool dropout crisis' continue in the US today. Studies say that nearly 6.2 million students in the US between the ages 16 and 24 dropped out of highschool in 2007. Not all students struggle staying out of the streets, but my main focus is on them. Not only are they in the streets, they have problems at home. We think we know, but we have no idea. What can we as leaders do to help them? Being a mentor and counselor to these students mean absolutely everything to me. My dream is to help these students achieve theirs! We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Their hopelessness will soon turn into hope! Their cries will soon turn into smiles! Their dreams will soon turn into a destiny! Its time that we stop waiting for the change, and start
being the change"
